How this site works and how it is paid
Last updated .
acinstallationlosangeles.com is an independent lead-generation publisher. Despite the name, it is not an HVAC contractor, a licensed installer, a manufacturer or a retailer. Nobody who works on this site installs, repairs or sells heating and cooling equipment.
What happens when you request quotes
- Your request (service, ZIP, property, current system, home size, ducts, timing, contact details and anything you wrote) goes to one or more HVAC contractors who serve your ZIP and hold an active Contractors State License Board license in the C-20 classification.
- We check each license, its bond and its workers' compensation status in the CSLB license check before a contractor receives requests, and record the date of that check.
- Those contractors pay us for the introduction. The fee does not change your price; the quote is between you and the contractor.
- Contractors may call, text or email you. If we ever publish a tracked phone number, calls may be recorded to confirm the request was delivered, and the recording is announced first.
- We do not perform, supervise, inspect or warranty any work. Contracts, permits, Title 24 tests, rebates, warranties and complaints are with the contractor.
- We are not an emergency service. If someone in the home shows signs of heat illness, call 911.
What we do not do
- We do not publish reviews, ratings or testimonials that we have not verified, and at present we publish none.
- We do not promise response times or visit dates. Those depend on the contractor.
- We do not rank contractors by how much they pay us.
- We do not sell your details to anyone other than the contractor or contractors matched to your request.
- We do not state a price of our own. Every price on the site is a published figure from a named source with the date we read it.
If a partner behaves badly
Tell us at hello@acinstallationlosangeles.com with the contractor's name and what happened. A contractor who misrepresents a license, a permit or a price is removed.
You can also file a complaint with the Contractors State License Board, and a claim may be possible against the contractor's $25,000 license bond.
Common questions about how we are paid
Do I pay anything for a quote?
No. Homeowners never pay us. Contractors pay for the introduction, and that fee does not change the price they quote you.
Will my details be sold to other companies?
No. They go to the licensed contractor or contractors matched to your ZIP and service, and to the form provider that carries them. Nothing goes to data brokers.
Who is responsible if the installation goes wrong?
The contractor. They hold the license, the permit, the contract and the warranty. We are a publisher and not a party to the job. Our editorial policy explains how we source what we publish.
