Which heat pump rebate applies to you?

Choose the utility named on your electric bill and whether a gas furnace is being replaced. The tool lists the programs that could apply and each one's status as read on its official page (checked 2026-10-20). It shows no amount a program has not published.

Look up your programs

How to use the lookup

  1. Find the utility on your electric bill. Not the gas bill, and not the city in your mailing address.
  2. Say whether a gas furnace is going. Some programs pay only when a heat pump replaces a gas appliance.
  3. Say whether it is an ADU or new construction. LADWP excludes both.
  4. San Fernando Valley priority community? Answer yes only if TECH lists your community or ZIP code.
  5. Open each program link in the result and read the current terms on the program's own page.

How it decides

The lookup does no arithmetic. It picks rows from our dated status board and adds a note where one of your answers conflicts with a program rule.

  • Your utility picks one city-utility row: LADWP, Pasadena (PWP), Burbank (BWP) or Glendale (GWP). For SCE it shows TECH Clean California, the program SCE customers relied on.
  • ADU or new construction adds an ineligible note to the LADWP row.
  • No gas furnace adds a note to the Burbank row, which pays when a heat pump replaces a gas appliance, and to GO ZERO, whose earlier phase required replacing a gas furnace.
  • San Fernando Valley adds TECH's SFV row, announced but not yet open.
  • Always listed: HEEHRA, GO ZERO and the ended 25C credit, with their status.

Worked examples

A Sherman Oaks house on LADWP, replacing a gas furnace. The lookup lists the open LADWP rebate (ducted $1,000–$1,250 per ton, ductless $1,500–$2,500), then HEEHRA as reserved, GO ZERO as closed and 25C as ended. The only open program is LADWP; the LADWP estimator turns it into a dollar figure.

A Burbank house adding AC only, no furnace removed. The Burbank row appears with a note that it must replace a gas appliance, so it likely does not apply. GO ZERO carries the same kind of note. Nothing open fits this job.

A Long Beach or Whittier house on SCE. The lookup shows TECH Clean California, fully reserved since 14 November 2025, plus the regional rows. As of 2026-10-20, no listed single-family heat pump incentive is open to this home.

Glendale's row is marked verify: the amounts come from official search results because the city site refused our reads. Treat them as unconfirmed until you read the program page yourself. Our Glendale page, Burbank page and Pasadena page cover local permits.

Your gas utility does not decide a heat pump rebate here. Most of the area is on SoCalGas; Long Beach runs its own gas utility.

Before you count on a rebate

  1. Read the program page on the day you sign. Funds run out and terms change.
  2. Check the ratings. LADWP needs at least 15.2 SEER2 and 7.7 HSPF2; Pasadena needs 15.3 SEER2 and 7.8 HSPF2. A minimum-efficiency system misses both.
  3. Pull and final the permit. LADWP requires the final approved Building and Safety permit; see permits in Los Angeles and our Title 24 guide for the tests.
  4. Watch the deadline: LADWP wants the application postmarked within 12 months of purchase, Pasadena within 180 days.
  5. Do not let a quote subtract a rebate that is reserved, closed or not yet open.

Limits

  • The lookup does not check your address. If you are unsure of your utility, see which utility serves my property.
  • It does not confirm income-qualified bonuses, such as Pasadena's assistance-program adder or Burbank's low-income cap. Ask the utility.
  • It does not cover multifamily, commercial or manufacturer promotions.

Questions

Which rebate applies to my LA home?

It depends on your electric utility. LADWP, Pasadena and Burbank customers have open city-utility rebates. SCE customers have no open single-family heat pump rebate as of our last check, because TECH and HEEHRA are reserved and GO ZERO is closed.

How do I know which utility I have?

The name is printed on your electric bill. An address in the City of Los Angeles is usually LADWP, but city limits are irregular, so check the bill rather than the mailing city.

Does the tool show dollar amounts?

Only the amounts printed on each program's own page. Where a program is closed, reserved or not yet open, it shows the status and no amount.

Can I combine a city-utility rebate with another program?

Possibly, but each program sets its own stacking rules and most of the regional ones are not taking new applications. Read both programs' terms before you count on two.

Is the federal tax credit still available?

No. The 25C credit applied to qualifying equipment placed in service by 31 December 2025. A system installed in 2026 does not qualify.

How current is it?

Program statuses were checked on 2026-10-20, and each row shows its own date. We re-check monthly.

  1. Tell us about the job. Service, ZIP, property and timing. The form says right away if your ZIP is outside the area.
  2. We check the license first. Requests go only to contractors whose CSLB C-20 license we have matched on the state register. If none covers your ZIP yet, we email you and say so.
  3. Compare what comes back. Line the written quote up against the published ranges and the quote checklist.
